From Bulls on the Beach to sea turtles, our top weekend events in Baldwin County, Sept. 9-11

Bulls, turtles and birds, oh my! For the first time there is a definitive theme in this weekend's top events to check out. Grab your cowboy hat, boots and your finest belt buckle and head to the Flora-Bama for a weekend of Bulls on the Beach. It is an exciting time for the whole family. The staff at Gulf State Park are celebrating sea turtles at the Gulf State Pier and the Alabama Audubon will be at the Fairhope Pier celebrating the local birds. Bulls on the Beach
What: Bulls on the Beach returns to the Flora-Bama Lounge & Oyster Bar for an adrenaline-pumping weekend. Professional bull riders from across the country will ride the meanest bulls in the land right on the beach. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit florabama.com.
When: Thursday, Sept. 8 - 10; gates open at 6 p.m. and rodeo begins at 8 p.m.
Where: Flora-Bama Lounge & Oyster Bar, 17401 Perdido Key Dr., Pensacola

Price: Adult tickets are $30, children ages 7 to 17 years $15 and children 6 and under are free.

Turtle Fest
What: Celebrate sea turtles with the experts at the Gulf State Park Pier. There will be games, a scavenger hunt and activities.
When: Saturday, Sept. 10, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 11, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Where: Gulf State Park Pier, 20800 E. Beach Blvd., Gulf Shores

Price: Cost is $3 per person

Birds on the Boardwalk
What: Join the Alabama Audubon staff at the Fairhope Pier and learn about what makes coastal Alabama an important place for birds. Staff will have binoculars and scopes available.
When: Sunday, Sept. 11, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Where: Fairhope Pier, 4 N. Beach Drive, Fairhope
Price: Free
