Friday night, three Baldwin County teams entered undefeated, and only No. 2 Fairhope escaped unscathed. Elsewhere, No. 7 Gulf Shores rolled to a region win over LeFlore and Spanish Fort nearly toppled No. 5 Theodore.

In Gulf Shores, the Dolphins got 207 total yards and three touchdowns from junior Ronnie Royal in their 45-12 win over LeFlore to move to 2-1 in Class 5A Region 1. JR Gardner added rushing touchdowns of 9 and 25 yards, and Nick Carris did the same from 7 yards out before Will Langston nailed a 25-yard field goal to cap the hosts’ victory.

In Spanish Fort, the Toros got out ahead of the No. 5 Theodore Bobcats early but could not hang on and fell to 2-2 in Class 6A Region 1. Spanish Fort quarterback Brayden Walker threw touchdown passes to Anthony Passerlli (25 yards) and Jacob Godfrey (36 yards) after the Toro defense grabbed a pick-six to get on the board. However, Theodore was able to storm from behind to record a 28-21 victory to remain undefeated at 5-0.

Fairhope 55, Davidson 28

Baldwin County’s last undefeated team is the Class 7A No. 2 Fairhope Pirates who earned a region win over Davidson Friday. Running back Qualin McCants and quarterback Caden Creel alternated rushing touchdowns in the second half to help Fairhope pull away from the Warriors late.

Next up: The Pirates host Foley Friday at 7 p.m.

Daphne 25, Baker 14

The Trojans rattled off 17 unanswered points to grab their third straight win within 7A Region 1. Stephon Blackshear (73 yards) and Nick Clark (7) supplied rushing touchdowns before Baylor Beard hit a 37-yard field goal. Eli Myers added the icing on the cake with a 95-yard pick-six on Daphne’s homecoming night.

Next up: The Trojans will travel to face Spanish Fort Friday at 7 p.m.

St. Michael Catholic 45, Satsuma 8

The Cardinals have now won two region games in a row where they scored more than 40 points in both. Last Friday, the St. Michael defense complemented the offense by allowing only one touchdown to the host Gators. Cardinal backup quarterback Gunner Rivers provided the bookending score with a 51-yard passing touchdown.

Next up: St. Michael will travel to face McGill-Toolen Friday at 7 p.m.

Jackson 30, Bayside Academy 10

The Admirals were another previously unbeaten team that fell Friday night but still sit at 2-1 in Class 4A Region 1. Joey Jones opened the scoring with a 37-yard field goal for Bayside Academy before Jackson scored all of their points. Damien Tate crossed the goal line in the final frame of regulation for the Admirals’ lone touchdown.

Next up: Bayside Academy is open Friday before traveling to face T.R. Miller next Friday, Sept. 30.
