Francis O. Watkins, 60, died unexpectedly Oct. 12, 2022, at his home in Spanish Fort.

He was born Sept. 2, 1962, in South Carolina, The son of Francis Watkins Sr and Helen McHenry. Neal graduated Pace High School, class of 1980. Following graduation, Neal served with the U.S. Army four years under the 101st airborne. Following his military service Neal made a living in the Bail Bond Business. In 2001, Neal married the love of his life, Vercilla Morris Watkins, and they settled in Spanish Fort Alabama. They celebrated 21 years of marriage in July. Neal was an avid bass fisherman and had been part of several bass fishing clubs. He would rather fish than do most anything else.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Connie Ostrowski. Surviving in addition to his wife, Vercilla Morris Watkins, are his daughters, Verlena Kennedy and her husband Brian, of Spanish Fort Alabama; Ashley Wienk and her husband Matt, of Murfreesboro Tennesse; Christie Hensley and her husband Robbie of Hixson, Tennesse; two sisters Lori Lee and her husband Lyle of Pace Forida; Pam Rice and her husband Kenny of Milton Florida; grandson Rian Lee Edward Kennedy, as well as many nieces and nephews and friends.

A service of remembrance was held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home 27409 US Hwy 98, Daphne AL 36526.
