Four Baldwin County High School fishing teams qualified for the Alabama Bass Nation High School Bassmaster National Championship after last weekend's state championships on Lake Eufala.

Four Baldwin County High School fishing teams qualified for the Alabama Bass Nation High School Bassmaster National Championship after last weekend's state championships on Lake Eufala.

James Travis and Jameson Norris registered the highest individual finish in 34th place and they were joined in qualifying for the national championship by Jed Defee and Conner Lanham  - who also represented the Tigers as the runners-up in the Angler of the Year hunt - Brody Lineberry and Ryan Wright, who finished 73rd overall, and Chance and Noah Bryars who registered 93rd overall.

The best local individual finish belonged to Fairhope's Elizabeth Eastman and Walker Jenkins who finished in 13th place with a total weight of 25.01 pounds on the maximum of 20 fish. The Pirates' second duo of Dustin Weinberg-Grayson Patterson recorded a 62nd-place finish with 15.55 total pounds on 18 fish.

Eastman and Weinberg were also awarded a William C. Florence Jr. Scholarship for their efforts.

Baldwin County High School's six-man team of Wright-Lineberry, Travis-Norris and Bryars-Bryars registered seventh place in the team competition with a total haul of 45.41 pounds on 45 fish.

After Travis-Norris finished 34th individually with a total weight of 19.39 pounds on 19 fish, they were followed by Wright-Brody in 73rd (14.14 total pounds, 14 fish) and Bryars-Bryars in 93rd (11.88 total pounds, 12 fish).

Also individually for the Tigers, Canyon Odom-Christopher Johnson finished 88th (12.52 total pounds, 12 fish), Eli Galloway-Mylan Tuberville registered 162nd (4.38 total pounds, 4 fish), Defee-Lanham came in 169th (3.88 total pounds, 4 fish) and Bryant Johnson-Kyle Rogers finished 176th (3.5 total pounds, 4 fish).
