Drivers in Gulf Shores should plan for a temporary detour Thursday night.
The intersection of Fort Morgan Road (Hwy 180) and West 2nd Street will be closed starting at 6:30 p.m. for the installation of mast arms for a new traffic signal. The closure is expected to last approximately three hours, with roads reopening immediately upon completion.
Motorists are urged to use Regency Road as an alternate route to connect to Highway 59 and other roadways. City officials advise travelers to plan accordingly and allow extra time for the detour.
