Foley woman charged in fentanyl death

A Foley woman is facing a manslaughter charge in connection to a death investigation involving fentanyl.

Samantha Dean Sheehan, 31, is accused of selling 3.5 grams of the deadly, illegal substance to a person who later died and was found on Jan. 3 with drug paraphernalia and "possible drug evidence" inside the residence, according to a news release from the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office.

The coroner's office conducted drug testing using the Randox machine, and it was presumptively determined that a fatal level of fentanyl was present in the decedent's system.

Through digital forensics, a possible suspect was identified, the sheriff's office stated. The investigation claims Sheehan sold the drugs to the decedent.

Sheehan was arrested on Feb. 12 and booked into the Baldwin County Corrections Center without bond.
