Foley Heritage Park will come alive with the aroma of chili and the sounds of live music on Saturday, Feb. 15, as the Foley Kiwanis Club hosts its inaugural Chili Cook-Off.
Set to run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the event invites the community to enjoy a flavorful day of competition, entertainment and giving back.
Local chefs, home cooks and chili enthusiasts will bring their best recipes to the table, competing for top honors and bragging rights. Attendees can sample a variety of chili, ranging from mild and savory to bold and spicy, beginning at 11 a.m. A panel of judges will determine the winners, with the announcement scheduled for 3 p.m.
Beyond the chili, the festival will feature live music, local vendors and a kid’s zone packed with activities to ensure fun for all ages.
The event serves as a fundraiser for the Foley Kiwanis Foundation Scholarship Fund, which supports local students in their educational goals.
Bill Reiller, president of the Foley Kiwanis Club, expressed excitement about the new tradition."We’re excited to bring the community together for this inaugural event," Reiller said a statement.
