Local girls’ soccer players were honored for their efforts on the pitch with all-state distinction awarded by the Alabama High School Soccer Coaches Association.
Four Baldwin County players landed on the Super All-State team that recognized athletes regardless of their classification. Those honorees also made the all-state team specific to their school’s classification where four made the Class 4A-5A first-team, three made the Class 7A first-team, two made the Class 1A-3A first-team and one made the Class 6A first-team all-state.
Foley sophomore AB Korhonen and Daphne junior Alexandria Warner represented their squads on the Super All-State first-team and Fairhope senior Ally Bailey and Bayside Academy senior Rhia Tkac made the Super All-State second-team. The former three also landed on the 7A first-team all-state.
Tkac was joined by Bayshore Christian freshman Kiley Hawarah in being named to the Class 1A-3A first-team all-state.
St. Michael Catholic School had four representatives on the Class 4A-5A first-team all-state including freshman Frencheska Arellano, sophomores Tatum Hoffman and Elisa Christensen and junior MiMi Smith.
Spanish Fort senior Caroline Krebbs was the lone local honoree on the Class 6A first-team all-state.
Daphne, Foley and Bayside Academy also announced second-team and honorable mentions. For the Lady Trojans, Dinuki Wickramanayake, Alexia Charqueno and Coryn Litteken were all named to the Class 7A second-team all-state along with the Lady Lions’ Macee Morin and Emma Korhonen. Daphne’s Abby Jordan and Elizabeth Kell earned all-state honorable mentions.
Bayside’s Luci Wilkinson, Misty Kate Smith and Woddie Collins all earned Class 1A-3A all-state honorable mentions as well.
