Foley residents should expect changes to their sanitation collection services due to the upcoming Labor Day holiday.
All city offices, including the Public Works Department, will be closed on Monday, Sept. 2, in observance of the holiday, with normal operations resuming on Tuesday.
The holiday will primarily impact the recycling collection schedule. Recycling collections typically scheduled for Mondays will be moved to Tuesday, Sept. 3. The rest of the week’s pickup schedule, including garbage collection services, will remain unaffected.
Residents who rely on the city’s collection of limbs, yard debris, and bulk items should be prepared for potential delays. Crews will resume pickups on Tuesday, starting where they left off the previous week. The city asks for patience as workers work to catch up with the holiday backlog.
Foley officials remind residents that all routes will begin at 6 a.m. as usual. Additionally, the hot shot service will be limited during the holiday week. Residents are encouraged to have their items out on time to avoid missed pickups.
