An upcoming fundraiser will be a roaring benefit to a Daphne-based community center for teen girls.
Flourish Community is set to present Flourish Fete, A Roaring '20s Gala for Good, taking place at Belforest Pointe in Daphne on Sept. 19, 6:30-8:30 p.m., at 26503 AL-181. It will feature a silent auction, hors d'oeuvres, cocktails and live music.
In this third-annual rendition of the event, guests will be treated to a silent auction and food and drinks from local vendors while being entertained by music from Symone French.
Money raised will benefit the community center, a 501c3 nonprofit that, as one member put it, "has created a safe space for me where I feel I cannot be judged while sharing my thoughts and feelings." Flourish Community serves girls ages 13-18 for under-resourced communities for free in Mobile and Baldwin counties. Through weekly workshops, career preparation, personal development and skills training, each girl is equipped and empowered to graduate high school, pursue a career and become the woman she was created to be, the organization's website states.
