FOLEY — Motorists driving on South McKenzie Street may have noticed a new addition to Foley's breakfast and brunch entourage is coming very soon.
First Watch, a chain that serves breakfast, brunch and lunch, is opening a new location at 3060 S. McKinzie St., to be housed in the old O'Charley's between Office Depot and the Sandy Sansing Nissan dealership, bringing its cuisine to coastal Alabama for the first time.
The menu at First Watch, whose name is a nautical term that refers to the very first shift of the day, changes five times a year. Along with classic options such as pancakes and French toast, they also serve several healthy and vegan items on the menu, including power bowls, salads and veggie burgers and operates on self-made animal, people and planet welfare policies. In addition to the food, they also serve drinks including coffee, juices and cocktails.
The Foley establishment will be the sixth location in Alabama, with spots previously opening in Birmingham, Hoover, Montgomery and Vestavia Hills. Prior to the Foley restaurant, the closest location was in Pensacola.
First Watch in Foley will officially open for business on April 7.
