First Fairhope land-use plan meeting Wednesday

Discussion to be held in James Nix Center

FAIRHOPE – The city of Fairhope’s Comprehensive Land Use Plan kick off is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 22. The meeting will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the James P. Nix Center. This is the first of multiple meetings to discuss creation of a community-driven comprehensive land use plan to address growth in Fairhope. Meetings will be held at different locations around the city through February 2022. Virtual options will also be available. Throughout the process, residents can email for more information. “We are depending on our residents to participate in this project so we can have an accurate look at how Fairhope should grow in the coming years,” said Fairhope Mayor Sherry Sullivan. “It is necessary that residents take an active role in this important project, and the Wednesday night kickoff is a great first step for all.” The project is sponsored by the RESTORE Council in cooperation with the State of Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources
