FOLEY — Foley High School students who scored 30 or higher on their ACTs were recently celebrated during a lunch sponsored by Lolly and Bob Holk of Magnolia Springs. The lunch was held at The Brick Oven in Foley on Thursday, Feb. 24.
FHS's ACT 30+ Club for the year of 2021-2022 includes Ryder Burns, Dylan Spivey, Jack McCoy, Autumn Lowery, Stephanie Pineda, Ella Cleverdon, Hannah Cole and Copper Niebuhr. The lunch celebration was attended by Wendy O'Toole, FHS Class of 2022 Counselor; Terry Burkle, Executive Director, Baldwin County Education Coalition; Lolly Holk, JaNay Dawson, Baldwin County Board of Education District 4; FHS Principal Russ Moore; Kylee Raulerson, Executive Director, South Baldwin Chamber Foundation; and Carla Holk.
"Coming off the pandemic year, we were very pleased to have the top 10 % of the Class of 2022 average 27.7 on the ACT," said Moore. "The top 25 % were over 24; the top 33 % were at 22.5; and the top half of the class was over 20. These students, with the help of our staff, showed improvement from the Pre-ACT in their sophomore year to the taking of the ACT in their junior year. Their level of improvement from potential to performance ranks in the top 5 % in the nation, demonstrating that our students and staff are making the most of the talent of our students. Go Lions!"
