Patriotism met the runway as Eastern Shore Republican Women hosted their inaugural Stars, Stripes & Style fashion show fundraiser at the Fairhope Yacht Club, raising more than $10,000 to benefit Baldwin County veterans.
The afternoon event brought together elected officials, business leaders and community supporters to raise funds for the Baldwin County Veterans Treatment Court and American Legion Post 199. Attendees filled the waterfront venue for a spirited program that paired fashion with a cause.
“This event was a powerful reminder of what our community can accomplish when we come together in support of our veterans,” said Judy Barlow, president of ESRW and chair of legislation and research for the National Federation of Republican Women. “We’re proud to stand behind those who have served our country.”
Congressman Barry Moore and his wife, Heather Moore, emceed the event, which featured a roster of local leaders modeling outfits from area boutiques. Models not only strutted down the runway but also led fundraising efforts ahead of the show, helping drive community engagement and donations.
“On behalf of our club, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our volunteers, models, the boutiques who dressed our guys, the local businesses who made donations and everyone whose presence and support made the day so special,” said Melinda McGhee, ESRW first vice president and event chair. “It is an honor to support the incredible work these organizations are doing for veterans in our community. We can’t wait to do it again next year!”
The Baldwin County Veterans Treatment Court provides specialized support and resources to veterans navigating the justice system. American Legion Post 199, based in Fairhope, offers a range of programs and services for local veterans and their families.
Founded more than 35 years ago, Eastern Shore Republican Women was the first GOP women’s organization on the Eastern Shore. In 2023, the group became the largest Republican Women’s Club in Alabama based on membership.
