SILVERHILL — The annual Fall Affair in the Square returns to Silverhill with live music, food trucks and family-friendly entertainment on Saturday, Nov. 13 next to the Silverhill Town Hall.

The event began in 2019 with local band Wiley Pete opening for the John Hart Project, said Silverhill’s special events coordinator Cindy Schulze. It was one of few events not canceled during the height of COVID-19 concerns. Last year’s performance featured The Marlow Boys.

“It’s an outdoor event, so there’s plenty of room to spread out and social distance,” she said. “This is just a family-friendly event where people can come, have a good time and listen to some great music.”

Live music kicks off at 7 p.m. with local acoustic performer Hannah Henshon, followed by the main act, Oliver’s Twist, beginning around 7:30 p.m., Schulze said.

Festivities will continue in the square until around 10 p.m.

Oliver’s Twist, formerly known as 747 Show Band, is managed by Oliver Sledge, who is also the lead vocalist, cousin of legendary R & B singer Percy Sledge (When A Man Loves A Woman).

According to social media, Oliver’s Twist is a “high-energy dance, funk and reggae” band that has traveled the East Coast, West Coast and the Virgin Islands over the last five years, playing casinos, sororities, fraternities, private parties, weddings and night clubs.

The four-piece group features a variety of music from the 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s.

Fall Affair in the Square will also feature a variety of food trucks. The event is free and those in attendance are asked to bring a lawn chair.
