Fairhope’s Dicksey signs with Alabama State soccer

Pirate defender part of nine-recruit signing class set to join Hornets next fall

Fairhope senior defender Madeline Dicksey joined the masses in signing their National Letters of Intent Wednesday, Nov. 9, with a ceremony at the high school.

Dicksey put pen to paper to cement the verbal commitment she made in August to join the Alabama State Hornet women’s soccer squad after her final season with the Pirates.

She was a crucial member of Fairhope’s state runner-up team from last season and marked the first of three to ascend to the college ranks in this first wave of National Signing Day.

Dicksey was one of nine signees who made their commitment to Alabama State official although she was the lone in-state recruit.

“National Signing Day 2022 was a big success for our program. We were able to add student-athletes that strengthen our program and our continued success both on the field as well as in the classroom,” Hornet head coach Jodie Smith said in the release. “I’m excited to officially welcome them to our team!”

Other Alabama State signees included Olivia Morrow (Fort Worth) and Emma Yosten (Wylie) from Texas, Emily Hamilton (Edinburgh) from Scotland, Ashley Wells (Littleton) from Colorado, Chase Lewis (Milton) from Georgia, Kailyn Roselli (Marlton) from New Jersey, Neysa Misita (Gulf Breeze) from Florida and Iliana Casiano (San Ramon) from California.

The Hornets finished fourth in the Southwestern Conference during the 2022 season with a 4-2-3 record within the group and a 6-8-4 overall mark.
