In its latest ranking, WorldAtlas has recognized Fairhope as one of the top destinations to reside in the Southern United States for 2024.
According to the ranking by WorldAtlas, the guide unveiled eight destinations where safety, culture and the great outdoors converge. According to the report, the towns included on the list boasted the best of Southern living. The list invited readers to discover where low crime rates met high quality of life, where tax laws favored the resident and where their next adventure awaited.
The report went on to say why Fairhope was such a draw for people to reside in.
"This quaint resort town ranks in the top ten in public schools and is one of the best places to retire, according to the US Census," the report said.
WorldAtlas named Fairhope among its "8 Best Places to Live in the Southern U.S. in 2024," based largely on the city's aesthetics and amenities, but also on its schools, resources and culture.
"Historic homes and oak-lined streets are plentiful, and museums like the Fairhope Museum of History highlight the town's beginnings and growth," the report went on to say. "This is a small, picturesque town with a low crime rate and minimal tax rates that is popular among retirees and young people alike."
Other notable places in the South that made WorldAtlas' list include Oxford, Mississippi; Naples, Florida; Wake Forest, North Carolina; Americus, Georgia; Hilton Head Island, South Carolina; Charlottesville, Virginia and Brentwood, Tennessee.
