The Elberta German Sausage Festival took place on Saturday, Oct. 30 and saw people from around the community come out to support the Elberta Volunteer Fire Department. Department volunteers worked all day to cook an estimated 6,000 pounds of German sausage to sell to festivalgoers. All proceeds raised benefit the Elberta Volunteer Fire Department. Local non-profit organizations benefit from the festival through proceeds from booth sales and parking lot fees.
