Elberta, Foley, Daphne, Gulf Shores team up to take down 34 indoor track records

Warriors lead the way with 12, Lions set 10 school records at Ice Breaker Invitational in Birmingham

Local athletes continued to add onto a record-setting indoor track season and saw another 34 school records fall between four teams at last weekend’s Ice Breaker Invitational in Birmingham.

Elberta athletes set 12 new best marks, Foley had 10 records set, Daphne grabbed 7 new records and Gulf Shores has 5 new standards in its history according to the records on athletic.net.

The Foley girls’ team and Elberta boys’ team led the way with seven records each, followed by Elberta’s girls’ team with five. The Gulf Shores and Daphne girls’ teams both set four school records, the Foley and Daphne boys’ teams each set three and the Gulf Shores boys’ team set one.

Cameron Ossler collected three individual records for the Warriors throughout the two-day meet where the Lions’ Nick Hamby and Destiny Roper both grabbed two school records each.

Below are the school records set by athletic.net standards by school from last weekend’s Ice Breaker Invitational.

60-meter dash: Damien Cruz – 7.57
800-meter run: David Gee – 2:09.79
60-meter hurdles: Cameron Ossler – 9.20

Triple Jump: Cameron Ossler – 37’ 7.75”

Girls
