Sea-N-Suds Restaurant & Oyster Bar, a beloved Gulf Shores institution, is celebrating 50 years of serving fresh Gulf seafood, cold drinks and unbeatable waterfront views.
To mark this milestone, the restaurant will host a special 50th anniversary celebration on Saturday, March 15, inviting longtime patrons, past employees and "all our friends" to join the festivities.
Guests can enjoy live music from local favorites Lisa Zanghi and Brent Burns while enjoying the breathtaking Gulf views from the restaurant's deck, a news release from the restaurant states. In honor of this golden anniversary, Sea-N-Suds will roll back the clock on pricing for the day — all draft beer and oysters will be served at 1975 prices.
"For five decades, Sea-N-Suds has been a gathering place for locals and visitors alike," said David Bodenhamer, owner and managing partner. "We are incredibly grateful for the generations of customers who have made this restaurant what it is today, and we can't wait to celebrate this milestone with everyone."
Founded in 1975 by Gerald King and joined the following year by Bodenhamer as partner, Sea-N-Suds has remained a staple of the Gulf Coast, offering fresh Gulf seafood in a laid-back, family-friendly atmosphere. The legacy of the restaurant would not be complete without remembering Nancy Peyer, their late business partner, who managed daily operations for decades. Her dedication and warm spirit were the heartbeat of Sea-N-Suds, and she is deeply missed by all who knew her.
For 50 years, the restaurant has remained in the same beachfront location, creating cherished memories for families and friends who return year after year.
