The Dream Center of Baldwin County received a donation from District 64 state Rep. Donna Givens (R-Loxley).
The donation will benefit the center's mission to support underprivileged youth in Baldwin County through counseling, mentoring, educational tutoring and drug and alcohol prevention programs, according to a news release.
Located in Foley, the Dream Center serves youth ages 12-18 across Baldwin County, offering a safe space for hope and healing. The organization relies on community support to sustain its services, which are designed to empower underserved youth and provide equal opportunities for growth and success.
"We are very appreciative of Donna's support of the Dream Center," Dream Center Board President Steve Bailey said in the release. "We hosted our annual fundraiser in September and were honored to have many of our local officials in attendance. They all understand the need for this program and most have really gotten behind our mission."
Givens emphasized her commitment to supporting programs that make a lasting impact on the community.
"I'm very happy to support the programs in Baldwin County that provide much needed services to our kids. The Dream Center is instrumental in giving every child in Baldwin County equal opportunity and this is a very important issue to me," Givens said. "By investing in our underprivileged youth, we are helping to create a brighter future for Baldwin County."
The Dream Center's programs address pressing issues facing local youth, including access to education and resources to combat substance abuse. With the help of donations like Givens', the organization continues to expand its reach and impact.
