Dorothy Harbison, age 82, a resident of Spanish Fort, Alabama, passed away on Tues., Jul. 30, 2024. Mrs. Harbison was a member of the First Baptist Church Spanish Fort where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir for many years. She loved to paint pictures, play the piano, and sing. She also played with the Jubilee Pickers. In her early days she enjoyed hunting and running foxes with her husband. She loved Jesus and spoiling her grandchildren. Mrs. Harbison was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas W. Shipp, Sr. and Geraldine Shipp; husband, Gene Allen Harbison; brother, Thomas W. Shipp, Jr.; and son-in-law, Ronnie Potter. She is survived by her daughter, Wendy Potter; son, Judson Harbison (Sharon); grandchildren, Jasmine Harbison and Dakota Harbison; grand dog, Bama; brother, Archie Shipp (Nelda); sister-in-law, Edwina Shipp; aunt, Lois Dukes; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Fri., Aug. 2, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church Spanish Fort. A visitation was held one hour prior to the service from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the church. The burial was held in Baldwin Memorial Cemetery, 20058 US HWY 90 Robertsdale, AL 36567.
