Dixie Jenniel Forsman Dickinson White, age 81, passed away on July 28, 2022 surrounded by loved ones.

Dixie was born June 5, 1941 to 'Ted' Joy Olaf Fredrick and Margaret Seaquist Forsman who were lifelong residents of Silverhill, Alabama. Dixie, too, lived her entire life in Silverhill.

Dixie graduated as an Honor student from Robertsdale High School in 1959, that same year she married James O. Dickinson Sr. In March of 1964 they opened the Burger Hut which was famous for its broasted chicken; people would come from miles away to enjoy this southern staple. The Burger Hut was a popular hangout for local teens. Everyone knew and loved Ms. Dixie as she kept a careful watch over the impulsive youth.

In 1970, Dixie married Kenneth C. White. In the mid 70's Dixie sold the Burger Hut after which time she went on to manage the Great Day in Robertsdale. In 1980, Dixie became the administrative assistant to the chef at the Marriott Grand Hotel in Point Clear, Alabama. After 23 years she retired with many awards of recognition and appreciation. Dixie loved to travel, photography, crafts and genealogy.

Dixie is survived by her brother "Peco" Creighton C. Forsman and his wife Irene; five children, Diana Dickinson Hasna, James O. Dickinson Jr., Steven 'Craig' Dickinson, Edward 'Brent' Dickinson and Jennifer White Veins; 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Dixie is survived by two nephews, Eric and Patrick Forsman, and a great niece, Tiffany Forsman.

Dixie was a fiercely dedicated and selfless mother; her children always came first. She raised her children in the Silverhill Covenant Church where they learned to live as Jesus taught. Dixie was very active in the church and choir.

The hole left by Dixie's absence is impossible to fill, she will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the Silverhill Covenant Church where there will be a memorial service on August 6 at 10 a.m.
