The Little Lagoon Preservation Society (LLPS) invites the public to its upcoming meeting on Thursday, Nov. 7, featuring environmental educator Leah Shultz from Gulf State Park Learning Campus.
The event, hosted at the Gulf Shores Activity Center on 260 Clubhouse Drive, kicks off with a social hour at 5:30 p.m., offering light refreshments and beverages before the program begins at 6 p.m.
Shultz, an environmental expert with a master's degree in environmental management and policy from American Public University and a University of Alabama alumna, will present an in-depth look at the educational opportunities available at the Learning Campus. Her role at Gulf State Park includes water quality policy development, research projects, oyster gardening and living shoreline initiatives. Her experiences provide insight into the local coastal ecology, where she engages visitors and residents alike in understanding and preserving the unique ecosystems of Gulf Shores.
During her presentation, Shultz will outline a range of programs designed to educate both children and adults, including hands-on activities and workshops. She will also provide information on how the community can get involved in these learning experiences and upcoming program schedules.
The Little Lagoon Preservation Society's meetings are open to all who are interested in conservation and community involvement.
