Daphne city employees received a firsthand look at the capabilities of the police department's K9 unit last week, as K9 Officer Brendan Stanley and his canine partner Charles Lee Ray demonstrated their drug search skills.

The event, held at the City of Daphne's municipal building, introduced the team to city staff. Charles Lee Ray, a one-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer, showcased his expertise in detecting narcotics, a skill honed through extensive training and certification.

Officer Stanley provided insights into their training regimen, emphasizing the importance of Charles Lee Ray’s role in law enforcement. The highlight of the demonstration was a simulated drug search, where Charles Lee Ray adeptly located hidden training narcotics, demonstrating his keen detection abilities.
