Mary Nagy, Leah Beach to join girls’ soccer coaching staff at Daphne High School

The Daphne girls’ soccer team recently announced coaching staff additions. Mary Nagy will serve as a varsity assistant and Leah Beach will be a varsity and junior varsity assistant to Head Coach Abram Chamberlain.

Nagy comes from Mississippi where she spent 16 years coaching at the 5A level and had numerous athletes continue their careers at the next level.

"She brings a wealth of experience and as a current teacher in Daphne High School, she already has a great familiarity with our program and several of the girls on our teams,” Chamberlain said of Nagy. “She is a vital asset to our program, and her successful experience in Mississippi brings another soccer perspective for the girls to learn from.”

Beach has been around the game since she was 5 years old and earned all-county and all-area honors as a player for Hartselle High School. As an assistant coach in Foley, she helped her husband, Daphne’s current JV Head Coach Nick Beach, capture a Baldwin County Middle School championship last year.

“Leah’s playing experience has been incredible, but what I’m excited about is raising the level of expectations for our girls. Coach Leah’s expertise is bringing programs to the next level. That is what we are after here at DHS,” said Chamberlain.

“I'm so excited for this season and I'm thankful for the opportunity to coach this talented group of girls,” Leah Beach said.
