Jordan Carraway wants to float in space. If you help her, you might get to go too.

The 2019 Daphne High School graduate is currently in first place in an online contest to win a ride on G-Force One, a modified Boeing 727 that gives people the chance to float like astronauts in a zero-gravity environment.

The prize is being given away by Peter Diamandis, co-founder of Zero-G and dozens of other companies including the X Prize Foundation. The ride on G-Force One is being given to the individual who signs the most people up for Diamandis’ new weekly e-newsletter, MINDset Mondays.

A second ride will also be given to one of those new subscribers, drawn at random. That could be you.

Carraway, who will be a senior at Auburn University this fall, is also a member of the school’s Air Force ROTC program and will serve in the military upon graduation. This summer she is working as a counselor at Space Camp in Huntsville. Her goal is to become a pilot and then, an astronaut.

Her love of outer space began with her first trip to the camp in sixth grade.

“I fell in love with space and have not stopped talking about it since,” Carraway said. “Despite how much we know about space, it’s still so little. There are constantly things to observe and learn and research. It’s a growing field and we’re going to continue to discover more and discover more that we don’t know.”

Each contestant was assigned a unique referral link so your entry will automatically count toward her total. The contest closes on July 23.

Update: Carraway announced on July 25, 2022 via Twitter that she won the contest with 1089 referrals.
