Daphne Brunch & Learn event offers solutions for chronic low back pain

Posted

Chronic low back pain affects millions of individuals, often hindering their daily lives and overall well-being.
On Oct. 29, community members are invited to explore effective treatments at a complimentary Brunch & Learn event featuring Dr. James Hicks, a fellowship-trained orthopaedic neck and spine specialist from The Spine Institute at Baldwin Bone & Joint.

Dr. Hicks will lead a discussion titled "Surgical Criteria for Low Back Pain and Non-Operative Management of Chronic Back Pain" at the Daphne Senior Center from 10:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Attendees will learn about various treatment options, from physical therapy and lifestyle changes to both non-surgical and surgical interventions designed to reduce and potentially eliminate chronic back pain.

"As a fellowship trained spine surgeon, I have spent my professional life focused on complex surgeries while guided by a philosophy of providing excellent, compassionate care to my patients," Dr. Hicks said. " It is my goal to ensure the optimal health and functionality of the spine utilizing the latest advancements in both non-operative and operative spine care — helping my patients get back to their previous function and quality of life, if not even better."

Dr. Hicks brings a wealth of experience to Baldwin Bone & Joint, particularly in complex surgeries, including motion preservation surgery. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Georgia and obtained his Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Georgia. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and a Complex and Minimally Invasive Spine Fellowship at Swedish Hospital in Seattle.

The Brunch & Learn event will take place at the Daphne Senior Center, located at 2605 U.S. 98 in Daphne. Interested attendees should RSVP by October 25 at (251) 620-2401. For further inquiries, call (251) 656-3843 or visit http://baldwinboneandjoint.com.
