The Gulf Shores High School girls’ golf team recently received a check and equipment donation from the Cotton Creek Ladies Golf Association.

Over the year, the CCLGA receives donations from members as part of the “Pennies for Putts” program and the donation on Feb. 25 was presented in honor of Anne McCormick.

CCLGA Treasurer Dawn Miceli was on hand for the donation presentation along with Association President Rene’ Hitson, Past President Cynthia McDermond and Past Vice President Nita Fitzgerald.

The Dolphins most recently took third place from the Talons Up Challenge in Dothan where Evelyn Lamar led the way with a total score of 78 for a top-10 individual finish. In the match before, Lamar was the individual champion of the Baker Invitational with an even score of 71 that featured three birdies and one eagle to help Gulf Shores finish fourth as a team.

Next on the docket for the Dolphins is the Prattville Invitational on March 10.
