FAIRHOPE — The Thomas Hospital Auxiliary named Barbara Colvin as Volunteer of the Quarter for the fourth quarter of 2022. Since joining the auxiliary five years ago, she has volunteered 1,000 hours in the surgery waiting area, where she helps patients, visitors and staff in her kind and compassionate manner.

Colvin and her husband Ed volunteer together in the surgery waiting area. After both were widowed, the former high school classmates reconnected and have been married 14 years. While earning her Masters Degree in counseling and psychology from Troy University in Winter Park, Florida, she worked as an assistant director of admissions. Twelve years ago, she and her husband moved to Fairhope and are now active members of Fairhope United Methodist Church. She enjoys gardening and spending time with family.

Nominations for Thomas Hospital Volunteer of the Quarter are made by Thomas Hospital Auxiliary members, with forms available in the Thomas Hospital Auxiliary office and Thomas Medical Center (Daphne) information desk. For information about becoming a volunteer at Thomas Hospital or Thomas Medical Center, please contact Melita Willkie at 251-279-5525 or melita.willkie@infirmaryhealth.org.
