Columbia Southern University (CSU) is expanding its academic offerings with new concentrations in communication and industrial hygiene, along with a postgraduate certificate in fire integrated research.
The additional programs, announced in a news release last week, aim to enhance students’ skills and career prospects by providing specialized education in growing fields.
The new concentrations have been added to four existing bachelor’s degree programs:
“Communication is a core function in any organization. Expanding these respective degree program offerings with a communication concentration provides an opportunity for our students to gain additional communication skills that we hope will help them in leading, interacting and effectively conveying information to various audiences,” said CSU President Ken Styron in the release.
In addition to the undergraduate concentrations, CSU introduced a postgraduate certificate in fire integrated research, designed for advanced study in fire science and related disciplines.
The new programs are the first CSU has launched in 2025, with more expected throughout the year. In 2024, the university introduced 54 new degree programs and concentrations as part of its ongoing effort to expand educational opportunities.
