The Coast Guard Foundation has awarded 207 scholarships for the 2024-2025 academic year, totaling $750,000 in financial support.
These scholarships are part of the foundation's ongoing mission to strengthen the Coast Guard community by aiding the children of active duty, reserve, retired and deceased Coast Guard personnel as they pursue higher education and technical training.
Since the program began in 1990, the foundation has granted more than $8.3 million in scholarships. This year's scholarship recipients include students across the country, including several from Alabama and the Gulf Coast region.

Additionally, Emma Pippin of Daphne received the Coast Guard Foundation Hubbard Broadcasting Foundation Scholarship. She, too, is studying at the University of South Alabama and is the daughter of Coast Guard Petty Officer 1st Class Jeremy Mark Pippin.
Susan Ludwig, president of the Coast Guard Foundation, praised this year's scholars for their dedication and resilience.
"We are proud of this year's scholarship recipients, whose resilience, and academic achievements truly reflect the spirit of our Coast Guard families," Ludwig said in the release. "These young people are not only shaping their own futures but also embodying the values of service that define our Coast Guard community. We extend our heartfelt thanks to you for your unwavering support. Together, we are making a lasting impact, ensuring that these scholars can reach their fullest potential."
