The holiday season is lighting up in North Baldwin as the Christmas at Bicentennial Park Drive-Thru Light Display returns to Stockton.
From Dec. 2 to Dec. 23, this free, family-friendly event invites visitors to experience the magic of the holidays with glittering light displays, festive scenes and special weekend activities.
Set in Bicentennial Park, a picturesque community space steeped in local history, the annual light display has become a beloved tradition for residents and visitors alike. This year's event offers a safe and joyful way to celebrate the season with something for everyone to enjoy.
The park will welcome guests nightly from 5 to 9 p.m., except on Dec. 8 and Dec. 15, when it will be closed. Visitors can explore the festive displays from the comfort of their vehicles or add an extra touch of holiday magic by opting for a hayride through the sparkling scenery on select Fridays and Saturdays.
WEEKEND ACTIVITIES ADD EXTRA CHEER
On weekends, the festivities expand with additional activities available on Dec. 6, 7, 13, 14, 20 and 21. Families can savor delicious bites from food trucks and vendors while capturing memories with holiday characters — cameras are encouraged for those perfect photo opportunities.
COMMUNITY SPIRIT
Admission to the event is free, thanks to the support of local sponsors, including Baldwin County Commission, state Rep. Donna Givens, state Sen. Chris Elliott, Baldwin EMC, North Baldwin Utilities, the City of Bay Minette and Councilman Mike Phillips. While there's no cost to attend, donations are welcome and can be made at the gate or online. Visit www.baldwincountyal.gov/departments/archives to learn more and to make a donation.
A PARK WITH HISTORY AND HEART
If you haven't yet visited Bicentennial Park, you are in for a treat. The park is more than just a venue; it's a living tribute to Stockton's rich history. Once a bustling hub of the sawmill and lumber industries in the 19th and early 20th centuries, the park now serves as a gathering place for the community. Today, it combines historical significance with opportunities for celebration, making it an ideal backdrop for creating new holiday traditions.
