Christian Service Center Christmas Cheer Crew prepares for holiday giving

Posted

The Christian Service Center (CSC) is gearing up for its annual Christmas Cheer program, set to bring holiday joy to children in need across Gulf Shores, Orange Beach and Fort Morgan.

Registration for the program begins on Oct. 15, with a new in-person process to better serve families during these challenging times.

For over 25 years, the CSC has helped provide Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the area. The Christmas Cheer program, supported by local churches, businesses, civic groups, restaurants and community members, offers a chance for families to ensure their children, from newborns to high schoolers, receive gifts during the holiday season. The program also assists custodial grandparents and parents in need of holiday support.

Last year alone, the Christmas Cheer program helped 272 families, providing gifts to 773 children. With the rising costs of rent, food and other living expenses, the number of families seeking assistance is expected to grow this year. Alongside gifts, families can also register for a Christmas Food Box, which helps ease the burden of holiday meals.

Registration will take place at the Christian Service Center, located at 317 Dolphin Avenue in Gulf Shores. Parents or guardians can sign up in person on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-3 p.m. starting Oct. 15.

Registration will also be available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in November and December, though the center will be closed from Nov. 27-29 for Thanksgiving. The final day to register is Dec. 12.

To ensure every child's wishes are fulfilled, families are encouraged to register early. Clothing requests are limited to newborns through size 6x and must be submitted by Nov. 26. The earlier the request, the better the chance of receiving the desired gifts.

For more information or to register, families can visit the Christian Service Center during the designated times. This holiday season, the CSC continues its mission to make Christmas brighter for children in need.
