FOLEY - Do you like chocolate? Or do you enjoy more savory foods, such as cheese? If you said yes to either or both of those items, then you’re in luck - the first ever Chocolate & Cheese Festival is coming to downtown Foley on Saturday, Nov. 13. The new event will take place in Heritage Park from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. Free parking will be available surrounding the park and in downtown Foley. Entry into the festival is $5 per person. Children 12 years and younger get in free.

The Chocolate & Cheese Festival is presented by Salt Life Promotions, and is sponsored by Gourmet Dash, Fairhope Brewing Company, Rock & Roll-Offs and Acceptance Insurance. The event will feature chocolatiers, cheese from around the world courtesy of Gourmet Dash, and chocolate and/or cheese menu items featured at every food and snack vendor on-site. Food vendors will also serve their regular menu items. Arts and crafts vendors, live music, a Kids’ Zone, free contests with prizes and chocolate martinis, beer and wine are just some of the other offerings that will be at the festival.

“We are super excited about this festival,” said Lisa Yeater, president of Salt Life Promotions, “not only because of the chocolate and cheese theme, but the musical lineup featuring Eagles Sunrise, The Ultimate Eagles Tribute Band, and all of the live music is something not to be missed.”

The live music will begin at 10:30 a.m. with Alabama Sunrise, Alabama Tribute Band. Merilee Voth will take the stage from 12:30 - 1:45 p.m., and Eagle Sunrise closes out the event from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. Attendees who want to show off their own vocal talent can participate in a karaoke contest. Semi-finals take place from 2:15 - 3 p.m., and the championship begins at 3:30 p.m. Free to enter contests will take place each hour beginning at noon, and include a chocolate eating contest, a cheese toss, cheese stacking, a chocolatier contest and a guess the cheese contest.
