There has been a rumor circulating in social media groups that Chick-fil-A is coming to Fairhope. Yes, the news got this journalist excited but one can’t hang their hat on rumors or hearsay.
Gulf Coast Media can confirm that Chick-fil-A is looking for a Fairhope location. Chick-fil-A Inc. sent the following statement:
“While we are still early in the process, Chick-fil-A is happy to share that we are actively pursuing a new location in the Fairhope area. We are excited by the prospect of joining this neighborhood, where each locally owned and operated restaurant creates 80-120 jobs. We hope to have the opportunity to serve new guests delicious food in an environment of genuine hospitality.”
The location is still a question mark but there are many commercial areas within the city of Fairhope to consider.
Chick-fil-A Daphne closed July 25 for a four- to six-month remodel. Hardcore fans on the Eastern Shore must now drive to either Spanish Fort, Foley or Mobile to get their nuggets and waffle fries.
Chick-fil-A acquired The Wacky Shrimp property which closed its doors for the final time June 21. The building, along with the current Daphne Chick-fil-A building, will be torn down to make way for a newest Chick-fil-A prototype with improvements. The Wacky Shrimp property will be used for parking and drive through enhancements.
Gulf Coast Media will continue to follow the Chick-fil-A Fairhope story and report as information becomes available. Where would you like to see a Chick-fil-A in Fairhope? Let us know your thoughts by emailing melanie@gulfcoastmedia.com.
