Charles Alfred Job, age 89, a resident of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Brennity Assisted Living with his son Michael and daughter-in-law Belinda by his side.

He was a faithful member of St Lawrence Catholic Church since moving to Fairhope 11 years ago.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles L & Sophie Job, five brothers and sisters, and his loving wife of 55 years, Susan Travitz Job.

Charles “Chuck” was born December 7, 1932, in Fall River, Massachusetts.  He enlisted in the Air Force in May 1952, served in the Korean & Vietnam wars, received many commendations and medals and after a 30-year Air Force career, retired in February 1981 as an E9 Chief Master Sergeant.

He and his wife retired to Tampa, Florida where they lived for 30 years until her death in 2011.  He received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of South Florida in August 1985, then began a career working for the State of Florida until his retirement in July 1998.

He is survived by his son, Michael Job (Belinda) of Fairhope, Alabama; granddaughter, Amanda Blackmon (Blake) of Tallassee, Alabama; grandson, Eric Christopher (Ashley) of Fairhope, Alabama; and four great-grandchildren, Mason, Adison, Jaelynn & Huntlynn.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 22, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at St Lawrence Catholic Church in Fairhope. The family received friends one hour prior to the service in the Family Life Center on the church grounds.

Interment will follow at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spanish Fort with military honors.
