Central Baldwin Middle School Symphonic Band ranks Superior

The Central Baldwin Middle School Symphonic Band recently participated in the Alabama Bandmasters Association District VII Music Performance Assessment. CBMS is pleased to announce that its Symphonic Band received all Superior ratings, with a perfect score in sight-reading.

The CBMS Band continues their award-winning, successful year and the growing tradition of the CBMS Band Program.

The students participating in the 2022 Music Performance Assessment include the following:

  • flutes — Marrselina Alejandre, AnnieMae Blair, Airyanna Bosley, Raylee Patterson, Michael Robertson, Taylor Sherrin and Saphira Torres;
  • oboe — Reagan Randall;
  • bassoon —Spencer Lepa;
  • clarinets — Shiloh Bishop, Riley Clark, Aya Decker, Liliana Flowers, Ava Henderson, Lyla Howell, Madi King, Leah Mitchell and Brooklyn Ping;
  • bass clarinets —Eryn Martin and Kayla Ryals;
  • alto saxophones — Kaitlin Bartush, Eddin Cabrera, Ryan Glenn, Raine Heaton, Maddi Hutzell, Hunter Monroe and Anna Olvera;
  • baritone saxophone — Jack Courson;
  • trumpets — Cris Ahumada, Devin Bassett, Jana Boyd, Caroline Chang, Ian Eaton, Mahaleigh Freitag, Britton Hilburn, Coly McLean, Charlie Miller and Wesley Quick;
  • horns — Kaylee Baker and Elizabeth Hemme;
  • trombones — George Barrera, Yosgart Campos, Halzey Dean, Dyllan Fiallos Padilla, Lilly Henry, Danika LaFrance, Brady Steelman, Trevor Sterling and Jayden Zakutney;
  • euphoniums — Will Cissel, Logan Ikner and Zoe Landry;
  • tubas —Bryan Capiz, Madeline Smith and Richard Vega-Nava; and
  • percussion — Sadie Bankester, Ian Brown, Alex Bruce, Gavin Buford, Lucas Collins, Aidan Engler, Bradley Everett, Keiran Haas, Emerson Krob, Brayden Laymon, Ami McCarn, Kathryn Moody and Lauren Spray.

Several seventh-grade students also assisted with the assessment trip and performance including Adyson Gore, Jordan Janey, Ansley Moore, Jizabell Perez, Estephany Vega-Nava and Alexis Walsted.
The Central Baldwin Middle School Bands are under the direction and leadership of Ashley T. Cummings.
