FAIRHOPE — The Morgan Thompson Foundation’s Brains and Brews Fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday, April 23 at Little Whiskey (14 North Church Street, Fairhope) from 5 - 8 p.m. The event benefits Fairhope High School’s International Baccalaureate Programme (IB).
Brains and Brews features an evening filled with Rock-n-Roll BINGO and adult guest bartenders from Fairhope High School serving drinks for tips. Guest bartenders will include Jon Cardwell, principal, Dee Dee Litaker, assistant principal, Josh Howell, assistant principal, Cammie Adams, IB counselor and Catherine Coleman, IB English teacher.
“In striving to fulfill its mission, the Morgan Thompson Foundation has funded and hosted several events, awards, and scholarships for the Fairhope IB Programme over the years,” said Kimberly Walker, president, The Morgan Thompson Foundation. “Starting with incoming Freshmen, the MTF hosts the Freshmen Fiesta for orientation. During the junior and senior years of the Programme, students must pay $1,000 in fees. MTF awards scholarships to cover these fees based on financial need. MTF also provides a $1,500 scholarship to one graduate based on merit. Upon graduation and awarding of the IB diploma, MTF honors graduates and those earning IB diplomas with up to a $100 award. These are just some examples of what we would like to continue to fund; however, we need resources to do it. We hope this event will help us raise sufficient funds to not only continue these efforts but to improve the support we give.”
The evening will include two rounds of BINGO (cards available for purchase at the event) with prizes awarded to the winners, including a prime student parking space for next school year.
Sponsorships and taxable donation opportunities are available leading up to the event. Brains and Brews is free to attend.

The Morgan Thompson Foundation’s mission is to provide financial support, service and advocacy for the International Baccalaureate Programme at Fairhope High School and parental support structure for IB admission, faculty and students. FHS’s IB operates without funding from Baldwin County Public Schools and relies on public support through individual gifts, corporate donations, grants and commitments from local legislators.
