From now until Sept. 24, local students are invited to participate in Daphne Public Library's 2022 "Back-to-School" Bookmark Contest. Sponsored by the Friends of the Daphne Public Library, the contest is open to students from K – 12. There will be two divisions for competition. Division I consists of K – fifth grades and Division II is for students in grades six – 12.
Local teachers, school librarians, educational specialists and homeschool educators are welcome to use the contest to inspire creativity and a love of reading in students. Entries can be submitted as a class assignment or by individual students.
The 2022 contest offers a classroom/homeschool group incentive of a $25 gift card to the two overall first place winners.
First, second and third place awards will be determined for each school grade. The overall top three winners in each division will be chosen based on talent and design, independent of the age group, and will have their bookmark entry framed and displayed for one month in the Daphne Library Atrium.
First place overall winners will receive copies of their bookmarks for family, friends and classmates. All grade level winners will receive ribbons and the first, second and third place overall winners from Divisions I and II will receive gift cards.
