School is out and the summer is heating up, but it is a wonderful time of year to explore Blakeley State Park. From hiking the shady trails and exploring the historic battlefield to cruising the Mobile Bay there are events for everyone this June.

Take a cruise from the Five Rivers Delta Resource Center. Blakeley State Park is offering four different cruises that include the Sunset Cruise June 17, Mobile Bay and the Eastern Shore Cruise June 18 and two Delta Discovery Cruises June 18 and June 19.

If you are looking to learn a new hobby, why not try Blakeley's Writing Workshop June 4. If you are more into art the "Art in the Park" Nature Sketching Series June 12 is the class for you.

Explore Bayou Canot June 11 and discover the history that lies beneath the water's surface. The area, located just off the Mobile River north of the city, was the scene of the burning of the slave ship Clotilda. It was also the scene of the tragic derailment of Amtrak's "Sunset Limited." The cruise leaves from the Blakeley Park Dock.

If you are more interested in a relaxing sunset cruise book a ticket for June 24.
