Black Cat Vegan Bakery in Foley will be moving out of its original downtown location and into a new building.
Since its inception, Black Cat Vegan Bakery has been serving its treats and goods through their small window in a little pink building at 209 S. Alston St., next door to Cheeseburger Randy’s. However, in a Facebook post, owner Lindsey Sholes said that February will be the bakery’s last month operating at their original location.
For patrons of the bakery, the good news is that the new location has already been picked out and they are already in the process of getting into the new building, with the new, larger brick-and-mortar featuring indoor seating and additional accommodations.
During the downtime when Black Cat Vegan Bakery moves into its new home in the coming weeks, Sholes said in the post they plan to keep baking goods and will have weekly pop-up shops in Baldwin County, Mobile and Pensacola. Customers can follow them on social media for more updates on that matter.
“We hope that you follow along with us and continue to support Black Cat Vegan Bakery as we continue our journey,” Sholes said in the post earlier this month. “As always, thank you all for everything. We have the best customers, and I appreciate each and every one of you.”
Sholes is a Mobile native and opened the doors to Black Cat Vegan Bakery last year, serving tasty baked treats to locals and visitors through a bi-weekly rotating menu. She is also serving king cakes for the Mardi Gras season, offering special flavors exclusively in store.
