Three outdoor track and field athletes brought four individual state championships home last week, their three high schools each covering a different geographic region of Baldwin County.

Bayshore Christian School senior Caden Phillippi earned titles in the 3A boys 1600m and 3200m with times of 4:18.09 and 9:21.88, respectively. He also placed fifth in the 800m with a time of 2:07.15 to round out his final year as an Eagle.

His three final rankings were among the eight total for the Eagles, who traveled to Cullman High School for the AHSAA 123A Championship Meet May 2-3. Bayshore took home the Blue Map trophy in 2022, a year that saw Phillippi earn All-State honors.

In class 6A, Gulf Shores High's Tevonna Campbell ran the top time in the girls 200m at 24.67g3.1. The freshman state champion was part of the Dolphins' 24 final rankings.

Rashad Jones, a junior at Foley High School, won the boys 7A javelin title with a score of 180-08. He was part of the Lions' 21 final rankings.

Hosted at the Gulf Shores Sportsplex May 1-3, nine Baldwin teams earned final rankings in the State Championship Meet for divisions 4A-7A:

  • Orange Beach: 11
  • St. Michael: 10
5A

  • - Spanish Fort: 14
7A
  • Daphne: 12
