Bay Minette welcome students back, traffic safety emphasized

Baldwin County Public School students eagerly returned to classrooms on Thursday, Aug. 8, bringing a mix of smiles and a few tears to Bay Minette Elementary School.

This year, students are enjoying a more relaxed start as the school has lifted its mandatory uniform policy, allowing for more individual expression as they begin the new academic year.

With the start of the school year, traffic congestion has returned, as parents and school buses navigate morning drop-offs and afternoon pick-ups. Bay Minette Police and Fire Department personnel were on hand Thursday morning to assist with the flow of traffic, ensuring that everyone reached their destinations safely.

Authorities are reminding the community to exercise patience and caution as drivers, walkers and bicyclists make their way to school—especially during these initial days. For those not involved in the school commute, it might be wise to avoid school zones during peak hours to help ease congestion.
