The Bay Minette Beautification Committee recently recognized a local residence and a downtown business with beautification awards.

The North Baldwin Health & Wellness LLC received the Business of the Month Award. The business opened last year on South Hand Avenue, transforming the store front into a quaint space filled with charming decor that is visible curbside. The transformation also included new signage on the storefront.

Mike Fagan on North White Avenue received the Beautification Award, which is presented to a residential property. The committee recognized all the hard work he had done in his yard, particularly after he lost more than a dozen trees to Hurricane Sally. Fagan consistently works hard in his yard and that has certainly been noticed!

In addition to the monthly Beautification Awards, the Committee sponsors the Bay Minette in Bloom campaign, annual Arbor Day Tree Give-Away and Clean Out & Recycle Day. The Arbor Day Tree Give-Away will be held Feb. 26 and Clean Out and Recycle Day is set for April 23, both at Bay Minette City Hall.
