Bay Minette man charged after boarding school bus

BAY MINETTE — A Bay Minette man has been arrested after boarding a Baldwin County school bus Wednesday and threatening the driver.

According to a release issued by Bay Minette Police Chief Al Tolbert, a bus driver radioed for assistance at approximately 7:10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26. The driver said a man stepped onto a school bus on Daphne Road in Bay Minette, used profanity while speaking with the driver and made threats to do bodily harm.

According to the release, there were students on board the bus at the time of the incident, which was captured by the on-board video and audio system mounted inside the bus.

In the early morning hours of Thursday, Jan. 27, Bay Minette Police arrested 22-year-old Jonathan Nathanial Walker, whose address is listed as Daphne Road in Bay Minette, and charged him with harassment, disorderly conduct and trespassing on a school bus.

Walker is also facing unrelated charges of misdemeanor failure to appear and is being held without bond at the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Corrections Center as a detainer for hold with Mobile County.
