Bay Minette Elementary School brought the spirit of Mardi Gras to campus with its annual Coronation and Parade, featuring a royal court and a lively procession.
The celebration began with the presentation of the Mardi Gras court, led by King Carter Van Smith and Queen Kelsey Lain Thompson. Prince Kehlin Makye Cubbage and Princess Ava Elise Henry joined them, along with court members Reid Hanks, Jett Lyles, Antonio Barragan, Malachi Harris, Jeremy James Jr., Grayson James, Ava Lindsey, Rella Gray, Hannah Lorenzo, Kensley Blackmon, Victoria Williams and McKenzie Vick.
Following the coronation, students and faculty lined the campus as the parade rolled through, featuring members of the BMES Tiger Club and various school and community groups. Baldwin County Public Schools Superintendent Eddie Tyler served as Grand Marshal, leading the procession in true Mardi Gras fashion.
