Baldwin County Youth Orchestra's concert to honor veterans Saturday

Posted

The Baldwin County Youth Orchestra will present A Tribute to America on May 14 at the First Baptist Church in Fairhope at 7 p.m.

The concert highlights music from or about America. A special song will salute members of the armed forces and veterans.

The concert is free and veterans and families are encouraged to attend.

The group has been supporting school age musicians across Baldwin County for over a decade by providing weekly lessons and annual Christmas and springtime shows.

The orchestra hosts string classes, for both beginners and advanced musicians and hosts a full offering of homeschool classes to include choir and guitar.

The group lost its longtime home in 2020 after it was damaged in Hurricane Sally. The orchestra moved into its new rehearsal space, located at 809 Nichols Ave. earlier this year.

For more information about the orchestra, open to all students in Baldwin County, contact Mr. Hughes at bcyorchestra.com or (251) 279-0848 for more information.
