Baldwin County Youth Orchestra performs Friday

DAPHNE — Kick off your holiday season with a performance by the Baldwin County Youth Orchestra Friday, Dec. 9.

The nearly 50-piece ensemble features students from across Baldwin County.
Musical selections include "Wizards of Winter" and "Christmas Swings."

The concert will be held at 7 p.m. at the Daphne Civic Center. Admission is free and a silent auction will be held during intermission.

The Baldwin County Youth Orchestra includes the following students: on violin are Jack Trejo, Isaiah Cink, William Morris, Kendra Kinney, Xiurong Zheng, Benjamin Bankester, Jasmine Allen, Anthony Morris, Kathryn Chakwin, and Jessica Cole. On viola are Autumn Porter, Aubrey Bramlett, and Ben Reece. On cello are Colin Gallagher and Abbie Trejo. Bass is performed by Noah Sugg. Flutists are Josephine Moore, Sarah Brooke Smith, Abbie Tuel, and Natalie Woodrow. The oboe is played by Elizabeth Whitman. On clarinet are Aubrey Fagen, Carolyn Lippold, Sam Neely and Sherry Stabler. The bass clarinet is performed by Sahid Echegaray Resto. Ethan Sugg will perform on the bassoon. Alto saxophone is played by Zander Westphal, Elizabeth Schultz, and Samantha Jenkins. Trumpet is played by Gavyn Jones and James Watford. The French horn is played by Danielle Murphy, Ava Harris and Michael Moore. The trombone section is composed of James Langan, Tucker Marlow, and Erryia Sappington. Tubas are played by Owen Pierson, Emily Knowles. Finally, percussion is performed by Anthony Hightower, Cal Crowell, and Carl Koffman.

Soloist, Wynter Marlow, an award-winning vocal student of The Studio in Daphne, will perform with the orchestra in a rendition of "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas."

The Baldwin Youth Chorus will also perform a number of holiday classics themed "Christmas on Broadway" during the evening.

Choir students hail from across Baldwin County and include Baylee Gaines, Simeon Davis, Dylan Gaines, Rose Zellner, Colt Mannion, Michaela Segui, Allie Harold, Evi Underwood, Gabe Dreher, Veronica Perez-Comejo, Mia Tesch, Gianna DiPetro, James Bodenmann and Kalei Parsons.
