Baldwin Shippers rounds out Mobile Baseball Connection postseason honors

The Mobile Baseball Connection rounded out its postseason honors with a third 25-player all-star team for Baldwin County.

Dubbed the Baldwin Shippers, the third-team all-stars had four Elberta Warriors and Gulf Shores Dolphins, three St. Michael Christian Cardinals and a pair each from the Bayside Academy Admirals, Central Christian Saints, Daphne Trojans, Orange Beach Makos and Spanish Fort Toros. They were joined by one Baldwin County Tiger, Bayshore Christian Eagle, Foley Lion and Robertsdale Golden Bear.

From the Elberta Warriors, Brandon Williams led the way with a .368 average, where he registered 21 hits, two home runs, 14 RBIs, 12 runs and 13 walks according to unofficial stats from Joey Warner and MBC. He also provided a 4-4 record on the mound with a 1.67 ERA and 57 strikeouts.

Williams was joined by Blaine White (.320 average, 24 hits, 6 RBIs, 18 runs, 8 stolen bases; 23 strikeouts) in also contributing on the mound and was named a third-team all-star alongside teammates Brady Motes (.317, 26 hits, 16 RBIs, 17 runs) and Hunter Powers (.280, 23 hits, 8 RBIs, 16 runs, 9 stolen bases).

Similarly for the Gulf Shores Dolphins, Jackson Achimon racked up a .272 average with 25 hits (5 doubles, 3 triples, 1 home run), 24 RBIs and 12 runs at the plate as well as five wins on the mound with a 1.65 ERA and 40 strikeouts.

Jud Keel collected a .250 average with 24 hits, 10 RBIs, 20 runs and nine stolen bases as well as won two pitching outings and struck out 22, Kaden Pierce registered a .257 average with 26 hits, nine RBIs and 20 runs and Mattox Johnson finished with a .247 average, 21 hits, 12 RBIs and 17 runs.

For the Golden Bears, Ethan Parnell provided a 6-2 record on the mound with a 2.60 ERA and 43 strikeouts. He was named to the all-county team alongside Foley’s Trevor Wilkerson, who did not have unofficial stats available.

Baldwin County’s Reece Buck (.232, 19 hits, 2 home runs, 13 RBIs, 12 runs) and Bayshore Christian’s Jack Malone (.298, 25 hits, 19 RBIs, 17 runs) were the other solo representatives.

Josh Murphy (.317, 20 hits, 28 RBIs, 16 runs; 2 pitching wins, 24 strikeouts) and William Ford (.303, 23 hits, 26 RBIs, 24 runs) both recorded an average over .300 and had more than 20 hits and 25 RBIs for the St. Michael Christian Cardinals. They were joined on the third-team all-stars by Ben Seibt who also collected 20 hits for a .256 average with 16 RBIs and 16 runs as well as two pitching wins, 25 strikeouts and a 2.63 ERA.

The Daphne Trojans’ now-former head coach, Brent Boyd, was named the honorary head coach of the Shippers where Daphne’s Parker Lomax and Tyler Paul were named third-team all-stars. At the plate, Lomax recorded a .338 average with 25 hits, 13 RBIs and 12 runs and on the mound, he finished 3-2 with 36 strikeouts and a 3.20 ERA. Paul provided a .282 average with 24 hits, 12 RBIs, 18 runs, 15 walks and seven stolen bases.

The Spanish Fort Toros were represented on the third-team all-stars by Jack Holley and Hayden Hill. Holley compiled a .371 average where he recorded 26 hits – including three home runs – 17 RBIs and 13 stolen bases. Hill worked a 5-0 record on the mound where he registered a sparkling earned run average of 0.69 and struck out 19 batters.

John Michael Fuller helped lead the Central Christian Saints’ offense with a .373 average, 22 hits – five doubles, two home runs – 25 RBIs, 28 runs, 17 walks and 13 stolen bases. He was named a third-team all-star alongside Cade Johnson who produced a .293 average with 24 hits, 20 RBIs, 38 runs, 22 walks and 10 hit-by-pitches at the plate, as well as a 9-2 pitching record with three saves, 58 strikeouts and a 2.64 ERA.

Jack Woods’ .329 average with 26 hits – two home runs – 12 RBIs and 17 runs helped keep the Bayside Academy offense chugging along with Davis Cain’s .282 average with 29 hits, 11 RBIs and 23 runs scored.

The Orange Beach Makos’ Carter Kantoulas (.320, 24 hits, 25 RBIs, 23 runs, 10 walks, 10 stolen bases) and Will Watts (.329, 24 hits, 20 RBIs, 19 runs, 16 walks, 12 stolen bases) rounded out the third-team all-star selections.
